I’ve been cursing my E-ten Glofiish M700 running Windows Mobile 5 (WM5) for a while now, for its extremely old fashioned and utterly stupid way of saving and showing contacts last name first, followed by its first name. I mean, why the hell would I remember a contacts last name easier than his or her first name? You see how that can be a bitch, right?

So, I ran across this extremely easy (not a perfect-world-solution) hack, but usable. If you save your contact like this “John Doe,” (see the comma?), it’ll get saved properly, and at least for me, the comma disappeared! It’s not in my mobile device, nor in my Outlook 2007 after a sync. And the name displays properly, FirstName LastName.
