Low output on Apple Universal Dock

Image of Apple Universal Dock

I bought my iPod and the Universal dock a while back and I’m pretty happy with it. Nice to have all my music in my pocket. Also nice to be able to play music without having a software music player running on my computer with all my music in the library, that just takes up resources.

But seriously, why is the output volume from the audio output jack in the back of the dock so damn low? Comparing it to when I plug the cable straight in to the iPod, the difference is not moderate. It’s huge! If I want to “rock out” even slightly, I crank my speakers to max and still don’t feel it… I can still hear my imaginary friend Rufio the auto mechanic talk about this damn Volvo he’s been working on, even though I’m franticly drumming on the table.

It’s ghetto, that’s what it is. Slap Apple. And yeah yeah, this speaker system isn’t off the hizzay either… Blame Rufio, he’s the one who picked’em out. “Oh, they make mother-killer car sound jefe!” he said… I don’t know what to do with that guy man… I swear to god.

I like the remote though. Even though I right now have the dock on my desk, I still have the remote control next to my mouse, so instead of having to reach for the iPod, I just use the remote. :)
